why joy effect
To connect wonderful people to the experiences they deserve.
To connect people to spaces where they can feel comfortable to be themselves and find their community.
To support hyyge and love in the world. Hygge is a Danish word that means creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people.
What inspired The Joy Effect was the idea of an easier way to invite friends to events I was going to. Rather than sending individual texts to each of them, I started by sending a group email to all my favorite humans to whatever I would be attending that weekend.
When I first moved to LA, I wasn't sure where to meet good people. I feel very fortunate to have found, what I think, the best community of humans, and I want to alleviate the challenge of finding your tribe for wonderful humans who are new to LA.
As I continued to do it more, it naturally grew to include more people and those people also wanted to include their events. The events I invited them to became a meeting ground for people I knew to connect to each other and find deeper similarities and overlaps within each other.
