Consumer Discovery Show Recap

Jay and I went to the Consumer Discovery Show (CDS) last week (Thank you Julia Price!).

Because my mom was in town, we got to go solo! Although it wasn't just us two on a dinner date it felt like a date for Jay and I. This is the longest both of us had ever been away from Zoe (BIG step!)

Okay, now to talk about the actual show. I am so inspired by what the founder, Meghan Asha, has built! And to get it to the level at which she has built it is so beautiful. In a big part, because what she has done is what I LOVE to do - and aspire to do more of - provide others a platform to catapult their visions into the world! (curation/alchemy for connection)

If you didn't get my last email with info on the event, CDS is basically an event for new companies bringing innovation to food, beauty and wellness to showcase their work - and get connected to people who will help them amplify their message - influencers, investors, etc.

However beautiful the event was, I had moments of a lot of frustration that stuck with me post event:

Why are there STILL so many companies making products with TOXINS in them?? :(

There were very few companies that I aligned with.

The frustration stemmed from having to invest time and energy in filtering out products.

For one...there was a product with CANOLA OIL in it! Just FYI -- aviod canola oil at all cost!

Also -- CANE SUGAR... why??

I have gone on a major health journey since giving birth because I experienced postpartum hypo-thyroiditis.

Because of this, I have been learning more about how many toxins are in our food, clothing, environment, toys, etc.

I have become so passionate about using my voice while educated myself on going as GREEN, eco-friendly, sustainable, toxic-free as possible.

In our addiction as a society to money and capitalist, we have overlooked what it is costing us..our health. I believe it is possible to have financial abundance as a result of focusing our priority on more of the feminine aspects of health, wellness, sustainability, harmony.

It can be a little bit daunting, I understand, but our bodies are screaming at us to pay attention and so is MOTHER EARTH.
Never have I been more passionate about taking time to research and invest ONLY into products that will support my body to thrive while also taking care of our planet. It's baffling to me that we allow companies to create items that are proven to be toxic for our bodies!

So, yes I am a little upset...but it's igniting a passion within me to share. Realizing it's important for me to share, because at one point I didn't have the knowledge on toxins I do now..and it took all those different people willing to share what they knew for me to learn.

For now, this is my brief recap, but I'll be doing a part 2 with a breakdown of brands. May have some discount codes to share with you as well.

I got to meet some awesome founders of brands who are commmitted to ORGANIC, sustainable, clean, pure and wholesome ingredients in their products :)

Would love to know where you are on this journey of toxic free living-- share anything you got with me :)
